Latvia’s airBaltic Launches New Flights

airBaltic has launched a new route between Riga and Odessa according to an announcement by the Latvian airline.

According to the airline, the new route is intended to provide a new summer holiday destination for travelers from the Baltic states, as well as convenient travel options to Riga and beyond to destinations in Western Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltics, and the CIS.

airBaltic flies from Riga to Odessa via four weekly flights operating a mix of Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400NextGen on the route. The new flights are scheduled to be of two hours and one-half duration. airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia.

Also in news from yesterday, the airline launched a new direct route linking Vilnius and Munich. The new route offers new travel options for travelers from Lithuania and Germany. Wolfgang Reuss, SVP of Network Management of airBaltic:

“The new service from Vilnius adds to our existing Riga – Munich service, and strengthens airBaltic’s position in the Baltic region.”

Earlier this month, airBaltic announced passenger numbers being up dramatically. During the first months of this year airBaltic carried 175 851 passengers or +17% more than in the same period of 2016.
