Beginning tomorrow, the ”Pegazs” Gallery’s next feature exhibition says “Happy 90th Birthday” to one of the greats of modern art in Latvia – Leo Kokle.

The touching story of Kokle’s career and life reveals the artist’s motto; ”Never give up!” will be celebrated at the gallery, located at 24 Rūpniecības Street, is open on weekdays 11 am to 5 pm. Admission will be free, and visitors can see up close some of the artists finest works. The artist study with master Jānis Tillbergs, the trials and tribulations of his life, and the legacy he left behind will be unveiled at this event.
Kokle, one of the most talented painters of his time, a portrait artists who was an innovator during his time. His quest for a post-war humanistic approach to portrait subjects, was his trademark.
