Hats off for the Kissamos Beach Cleaning Team after their latest cleanup effort at Kolymbari Beach this past weekend. The team met in front of AVRA hotel to blanket the marvelous beach hit by recent north winds and an influx of rubbish.
According to the story from Kissamos News, 20 volunteers gathered on the beach despite horrid weather conditions to show the love for Crete beaches. Special thanks are due for Maria Malandraki with students from the Vocational Evening School ELPAL Platanias for their generous help.
Also, the Municipality of Platanias is owed a debt of gratitude for providing the garbage bags for the cleanup operation. The volunteers enjoyed the good company out of the weather at the Εν Ελλάδι (In Greece) tavern in Kolymbari
The next beach cleaning is scheduled for the 1st December. Time and beach will be announced in time.
