Kaunas Photo Jubilee Begins in Lithuania’s Second City

Yesterday in Kaunas, LIthuania the start of the Kaunas Photo Jubilee began starting this year’s season with a festive creative note. The tenth in the series, the event will feature hundreds of photos from as many photographers around the world.

The subjects covered obviously canvas the spectrum from students, childhood, ideas, places, old age, and many uplifting subjects and motifs. Ordinary people are the focus of an exhibition of exquisite photographs. Scheduled to run from April 11 to 14, the event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the city of Kaunas, and a large number of local and national businesses including; the National Art Museum,  Gallery of Art Park, Vytautas Magnus University, and many others.

Among the wonderful photos this year the one above from Lithuanian photographer Jonas Petronis, as you can see, an artistic treatment of B & W that tells on our comedic nature in real life situations. The image below from the exhibits of Hungarian photographer Szabolcs Barakonyi, reflects perfectly the symbiotic aspects of everyday people and life.
