Junibor Ünnep, a Wine Festival by DiVino in Budapest

Junibor Ünnep is an annual wine festival brought to you by DiVino, one of Budapest’s top wine bars. It is well worth it to stop by here: with over 500 different wine labels on their list, every day is a wine festival. Nevertheless, their annual Junibor Ünnep is a must, offering connoisseurs and amateurs alike the opportunity to taste artisan Hungarian wines and local cuisine.

The Junibor Wine Festival 2016 edition will line up 32 young winemakers from all over the country. Four days, starting with Thursday, August 25, and ending on Sunday, August 28, oenophiles have the opportunity to try and to buy a variety of exclusive wines, like Takler András Regnum 2011, Jandl Arnold Merlot 2013, Gere Zsolt Villányi Franc 2011, Konyári Dániel Páva 2011, Wille-Baumkauff Stefán Pinot noir rosé 2014, Árvay Angelika Istenhegy 2014, Prácser Hajnalka és Miklós Zafír 2015, and many other exclusive vintages.

The event takes place at Szent István tér – in front of the Basilica. Besides wine stands, guests will enjoy sweet and savory treats by Twist & Chips, Zing Burger, Lakatos Műhely, SteamBoo, Ricsi’s World’s Jewish Street Food, Castello, and POPS!.

The festival is this year at its forth edition. If you miss it, it is very likely to find some of the wines presented here at DiVino, which is located at Szent István tér 3. The bar has its own wine store, and it is always busy, but most likely to get crowded warm summer nights. In fact, this is one of the hottest places to be in Budapest, by day, or by night.

Most of the wines are available by the glass, and you can also order snacks to pair with your drinks. They have quality bites: cured meats, cheeses, light snacks, bread spreads and artisan breads, fries and wedges, and a killer burger.

DiVino is also highly recommended for hospitality industry professionals and wine enthusiasts for its “Wine School,” which offers a variety of wine-themed classes.
