InterContinental Hotels Group Europe adds 2 properties

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) has announced the signing of InterContinental® Lisbon and Crowne Plaza® Porto. Both hotels will be run from agreements between Hotelgal SA, a subsidiary of Global Hotels & Resorts, and IHG. InterContinental Lisbon is to open in a few weeks, while Park Atlantic Hotel Porto is to become Crown Plaza Porto later this Autumn.

Robert Shepherd, Chief Development Officer, Europe, IHG, had this to say about the news:

“Lisbon is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Southern Europe and the signing of InterContinental Lisbon overlooking the city of Lisbon and Park Edouardo VII  is a significant development for the brand in this region. Equally, Crowne Plaza Porto will be a meetings destination in its own right and well placed to provide quality accommodation and meeting support to business travellers and companies in the area.”

Currently IHG has some 30 hotels and resorts spread out across Europe. The wider hotel group is spread out over 100 countries and offers getaways for the family, business, celebration, and life experience travel accommodations.
