Hotel V Nesplein – The Amsterdam Stay You Need

For those in search of a four star surprise in Amsterdam, Hotel V has just opened, a new boutique housed in the former Flemish Cultural Centre.

Hotel V

Situated in a completely transformed historic building, the 43 room luxury hotel also boasts of trans-formative owners too. With Amsterdam in a bit of need of a PR boost, this chic and starches new hotel is just the ticket. One of  Hotel V’s visionaries, Jan Stuurman, believes showing people the real Amsterdam, rather than the perceived haven for prostitution and illicit marijuana use, is simply part of the hotel’s mission.

And, opened just in time for big happenings in Amsterdam, the hotel is not only interesting from a luxury stay point of view, but a design one as well. On the events in Amsterdam end of things, guests can look forward this year to the opening of the Rijksmuseum (rijksmuseum.nl) the re-opening of the Van Gogh Museum (vangoghmuseum.nl) next month, and of course about 50 billion tulips and other famous Holland wonders.

Hotel V Lobby

As for the all new Hotel V, this family run affair is actually a product of 11 generations of Amsterdam hospitality. Situated smack in the heart of Amsterdam, just a stone’s toss from Dam Square, the stylish venue catches a guests eye almost immediately with design aimed at differentiating the place. First off, you can’t miss the massive chandelier (image above) enticing outside onlookers from the hotel’s lobby.

Throw in some sumptuous design, all the four star suspects anyone could want, and even a Michelin class chef, and what you get is one of Amsterdam’s best stays. Add to this the aforementioned tone of this fine hotel, geared in every way to signify old style Amsterdam hospitality and friendliness AND modernity too. So the reader knows, our reports already reveal a staff that goes that extra step to please.
