Canopy by Hilton Zagreb

Hilton’s Canopy has just opened in Zagreb, Croatia, the first such hotel in continental Europe. The Canopy by Hilton Zagreb offers 151 guest rooms with 8 suites with decor inspired by Croatian tradition.

The €8 million euro project, Canopy by Hilton Zagreb grand opening earlier this week was attended by Croatia Tourism Minister Gari Capelli, who announced his country’s €1.05 billion euro coming investment in tourism for 2019. Also at the opening,  Hilton’s Simon Vincent, EVP, and president, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, made this statement about the significance of Zagreb as a touristic destination:

“With nearly 600,000 tourists visiting Zagreb between January and June 2018, the city is quickly becoming a must-see destination in Europe.”

This is the second Hilton hotel in Zagreb after the brand’s Doubletree edition. In addition to world-class amenities, Hilton is famous for,  the new hotel will feature the Canopy Central Café and Bar that serves local fare and drinks, including cocktails inspired by Croatian inventors Tesla and fellow Croatian inventor Slavoljub Penkala.

The hotel’s interiors of the rooms are inspired by the long industrial history of the local neighborhood including local textiles and artwork, and even carpets inspired by traditional folk costumes. The hallways of the property also highlight the neighborhoods’ rich history and are lined with posters of the famous Croatian inventor Nikola Tesla as well.

Also in the news from Zagreb, Hilton will soon open Canopy hotels in Madrid, London, and Paris.

The Canopy by Hilton Zagreb is 20 kilometers from Zagreb’s recently expanded airport, which the company hopes will bring in event attendees.
