Greece’s EODY Reports 4,496 New COVID Cases

Greece officials at the National Public Health Organization (EODY) confirmed 4,496 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours as of yesterday. This drives the confirmed infections since the pandemic began to 3,483,275 (daily change: +0.1 pct).

Also in the report were 13 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 29,966. Of these, 95.6 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

Here in Heraklion, there were 143 new cases reported, which is an incidence rate of just under 47 per 100,000 people. Once again, the famous party island of Mykonos recorded the highest incidence rate at over 217 per 100,000 inhabitants. Santorini was just behind with 211/100k residents.
