Greece’s 408 Blue Flag Beaches Announced for 2014

Some 408 plus beaches and 10 marinas in Greece were named Blue Flag clean wonders by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

In order for a beach or marina to receive a Blue Flag eco-label, the quality of bathing water and other criteria must meet or exceed 32 separative standards. These deal with cleanliness, environmental management and organisation, environmental education and information, visitor safety and services, as well as protection of nature, the coast and the coastal areas.
