Now You Can Visit Zoos from Home, with Google Street View

Do you like wildlife? Do you like animals and, as often as possible when you travel you go to the zoos and various animal parks all around the world? There are such places you would like to visit and animals you would like to see but don’t know when you’ll get the chance? Would you like to re-visit and see some of the animals you admired in one of your trips? Now all this is possible as Google Street View announces new zoos and animal parks from all over the world joined their program.

You can see almost any animal you want. From Giant and Red Pandas in the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China to animals present at Buin Zoo in Chile and Zoologico de Bauru in Brazil. You can admire tigers and kangaroos at the Shou Shan Zoo in Taiwan, polar bears and penguins at the Asahiyama Zoo in Japan, see the world’s largest captive colony of orangutans at the Singapore Zoo and many, many other animals in various zoos around the globe.

Google Maps allows you to see zoos from North and South America, from Europe – for instance Zoo Safari Park Stukenbrock, Tierpark Hagenbeck in Germany, Zoo Aquarium de Madrid in Spain and Whipsnade Zoo in the U.K. are just a few of the new places joining the program – to Australia (Taronga Zoo in Sydney awaits for you online).

You can see a complete list of zoos and animal parks available for an online visit on Views site.

True, these images will never compare to a real visit there, but since not many people get to travel the world and visit whatever they want, when they want, this initiative is one that I am sure will be appreciated by many people.
