Free Minoan Guided Tour to the Lilies Mansion

Mark your calendars for a cultural journey through time! On Saturday, March 29, 2025, a guided tour will take visitors to two remarkable landmarks: the Minoan Lilies Mansion and Nirou Megaron. Perfect for lovers of history or anyone looking to break the monotony of mediocre weekend plans.

Organized by the Municipality of Heraklion in collaboration with the “Philopolis” volunteer group, this tour is led by guide Athena Kyriakaki-Sfakaki. Because nothing says “fun Saturday” like expertly narrated ancient ruins, right?

Meeting Point and Itinerary

Participants will meet at 10:00 a.m. outside the Karteros Hotel along the old Heraklion–Agios Nikolaos national road (7.5 km from Heraklion). Curious what 7.5 kilometers feels like? Use this helpful map link: Google Maps.

From there, guests will head to the Mesovouni area, where they’ll wander around the Minoan Lilies Mansion like the ancient royalty they clearly wish they were. The day wraps up at the Nirou Megaron in Kokkini Hani.
