Exclusive: Fantanita, the Ultimate Resort for Real Romanian Hospitality

…at least in the Murfatlar area. As summer closes in and people start going more to the sea, finding the perfect place that offers relaxation, and which provides the perfect mix of high quality services and great scenery, is a great challenge. We have a suggestion for you, a place which has been visited by local travelers, who  enjoyed their every moment spent here.

“If you want authentic Romanian hospitality, this is the place,” told us Col. (ret.) Lica Pavel. “The staff is not only warm and friendly, but ready to help – and if you are in a jam, they literally rescue you. Our car was in service for a couple of days last New Year’s Eve, and these people were more than supportive with me and my family. We forgot all our worries during our stay.”

That’s something not easy to find these days, so make sure you read further! Our recommendation is “Fantanita Murfatlar” complex located in Murfatlar, Constanta county.

If you look for a relaxation oasis and affordable prices, Fantinita Murfatlar is the perfect choice for you.  In the area surrounding the hostel, you’ll discover the  beauty of nature in stunning landscapes, animals and wild flowers, rare species and species endemic Dobrogea.

Fantinita Murfatlar has 16 double rooms with double beds, modern heating, new furniture, TVs, modern bathrooms in each room and wireless internet. So, you can go online from the comfort of your room, never missing a thing, keeping up to date with your social networks, and even sharing your impressions from here on Pinterest, Facebook and elsewhere. There is also a small playground where children can have fun out of potential danger areas.

Don’t think for a moment that you’ll be stuck in a hostel with nothing to do, or no place to see. You can choose to explore the beautiful surroundings of the complex, or you can visit the interesting tourist attractions in the area.

A mixed nature reserve – botanical and zoological – can be found nearby: Forest Fantanita Murfatlar. Here you can find 500 species of plants, many of them rare species found only on the territory of Dobrudja (Dobrogea flax, spin Murfatlar, garlic, colilia, hyacinth, etc.) and some special fauna, characteristic of steppe areas, including Testudo graeca iberia – Dobrogea turtle, Vormela peregusna – ferret stained, etc.

St. Andrew’s Cave and Monastery is another attraction in the area. St. Andrew is the apostle who brought the word of Christ in Romania, and this monastery is a special place, visited by foreign and local tourists all year long. On November 30, Romania celebrates St. Andrew and many pilgrims come from all over the world to pray in this monastery. You can also visit the oldest churches in Romania: The six Chalk Churches, several tombs, galleries and now over 20 graves offer a perspective on religious architecture during X-XII centuries AD on the territory of Dobrogea.

In Galita Village, Ostrov Commune (at 133 km from Constanta), tourists can find the Dervent Monastery. Here, Christians come in pilgrimage to pray to the icon of the Virgin Mary, the miracle worker, and to the Holly Crosses, hoping that their wishes will come true.

Also in the area is the Tropaeum Traiani, a monument built in 109 to celebrate Roman Emperor Trajan’s victory over the Dacians, in 102, in the Battle of Tapae. There is also a nearby museum where visitors can admire many archaeological objects, including parts of the original Roman monument, as of the original 54 metopes, 48 are in the museum.

Wine lovers will be delighted to find out that they can enjoy a wine tasting session at Murftlar, one of the main local wine producers. They can also visit the Murfatlar Wine Cellar and Winery, and the Museum.

If you want even more, take a drive to Constanta and see the famous casino, or enjoy some good time in Mamaia and its famous clubs, and spend a day in the sun on one of the beautiful, sandy beaches of the Black Sea.
