The European Travel Commission has just named Mr Manuel Butler, Director General of Tourspain (Spain), as President of the ETC. The 84th General Meeting in Dublin yesterday was the scene of Butler’s succession of Ms Petra Hedorfer of the GNTB.

Butler has been CEO of the Spanish Institute for Tourism since the start of last year. His vast experience across Western Europe, North and Latin America, were cited as some of the criteria under which he was voted in. The ETC has marketed Europe tourism abroad since 1948, and is now engaged with the European Commission in ensuring Destination Europe 2020 meets or exceeds goals.
