Elounda Hills, a €410 million euro tourism project outside Agios Nikolaos on Crete, is one step closer to reality after a joint-ministerial decision was signed this week.

According to the news, once the plans are approved by the Council of State, Mirum Hellas can begin construction on the ambitious project. The five-star luxury retreat will reportedly include a 200-bed hotel, which will be either underneath the Four Seasons or Fairmont hotel brand. Elounda Hilly will also offer holiday villas, a wide array of sports and wellness facilities, and a 202-boat marina designed with a capacity to port large yachts.

Elounda Hills, on picturesque Mirabello Bay, is expected to generate some 600 new jobs during the construction phase and an additional 763 permanent positions as well as multiple seasonal employment during operation. Elounda Hills will be created taking advantage of the latest trends technology, and innovations to create an economically and environmentally sustainable commercial resort.

Mirum Hellas belongs to luxury residential and holiday property developer Mirum Group, which is owned by Vitaly Borisov. The Russian-interest group invests in luxury holiday communities.

Mirum Group is one of the few international companies in Greece that has been included in the Procedures of the Strategic Investments of the Law N. 3894/2010, providing for fast track permitting and other benefits for the project.

Construction on the environmentally-friendly resort village is slated to begin in the fall of 2020.
