Last week an all new boutique stay opened up in Berlin. Das Stue in the Tiergarten neighborhood, is an 80 room luxury affair just perfect as a home away from home while visiting Germany’s capital.

Once the Danish Embassy, the circa 1930s building is now how to what General Manager Jean-Paul Danti described to Boutique Hotel News as “a drawing room motif”, or simply allowing guests to withdraw into a cultivated conversational space much like that revealed in the movies of a period.
While not so many younger people today might identify with Cary Grant and gentlemanly refinements, anyone can clearly see the refined architectural and stylistic elements of this hotel via their website. From the interior design by Patricia Urquiola, to the spa experience you can detect below, visiting central Berlin can be done from this boutique beauty now.

And if sheer luxury to look at, crispy pillows beneath your head, and other exclusive treatments are not enough, the hotel boasts of not one, but two restaurants (one formal, one casual) under the supervision of Michelin-starred Spanish chef Paco Perez. Throw in a wonderful library, a collection of vintage fashion photography, and some expert staff and Voilla! (of should I say wunderbar?) this boutique is worth checking out and into.
The Spa at Das Stue
A pool, sauna, and all the amenities you’d expect from a five star hotel abide here, and at four star prices. I searched a suite for next month on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend trip and found a corner suite for under €300 euro per night. Given the location and level of service, this seems well within fair for me.
