Croatia Airlines Strike Seems Imminent

On Friday 3 unions connected with Croatia Airlines (CA) said a general strike by the national air carrier’s employees will start tomorrow if demands are not met. According to the news the employees are just trying to get benefits of an agreement already struck last year in a collective bargaining agreement.

Meanwhile CA has stated that any strike would mean partial disruption of some services, meaning some passengers may be transported by partner airlines should the need arise. The three unions, comprised of approximately 600 members in all,  represent CA pilots, cabin crews and land staff. The groups demand that all their rights be kept intact as specified in the current collective agreement, or the strike will begin at 6 AM Tuesday morning.

Zoran Bilic, the President of the Croatia Airlines Pilots Union, told several newspapers the airline continually expects more work, and longer hours, for increasingly less pay. So far there has been no new news or comment from Croatia Airlines.
