Today on Crete island it feels like Spring as unseasonally warm air masses now cover large parts of Europe. Temperatures Monday and Tuesday will approach 20°C.
According to the National Observatory of Athens weather service ”Meteo”, this warming trend is expected to continue into next week, as even hotter air masses dominate the Mediterranean Sea.
Forecasters say these temperatures are as much as 13 degrees Celcius above normal for the time of year. The high of 18 degrees today has already been achieved here in Heraklion.
Rain is expected as cooler air comes into play on Wednesday, and general clearing and higher temperatures are expected over next weekend for Crete island and most of the rest of Greece.
Right now at Heraklion Airport, winds are from the NE at 16kmh, and the temperature is 18°C under clear skies.
