Costa Luminosa Brings the Jewels of the Baltic to Moscow

Italian cruise line Costa Cruises has recently added a tour of Moscow to its “Jewels of the Baltic” (or “Northern Capitals”) itinerary, allowing Costa Luminosa cruise passengers to visit the beautiful Russian capital for a day.

Moscow is not a port call for the cruise. Instead, passengers have the opportunity to ride the bullet train from St. Petersburg to Moscow for a “Moscow in a day” guided tour, during a two-day stopover in St Petersburg. The tour takes visitors to some of the most important landmarks of the capital: the Krmlin, St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Red Square and the Armory Museum. In the train ride back to St Petersburg, guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner – the perfect ending to an exciting Russian adventure.

“Moscow in a day” is not the only program for those who want to experience more of Russia. A “Super Russia” program includes guided tours of both cities, with a stop at the world-renowned Hermitage. Visas are included in the price of the excursion, an important detail for travelers who no longer need to worry about time-consuming formalities, and can now enjoy their trip worry-free.

Costa Luminosa is a superb ship, with 1,130 cabins, 4 luxury restaurants, and 11 bars and lounges. Its unparalleled entertainment programme is designed to appeal to all kinds of audiences: there are dance floors, a 4D cinema, a casino, golf simulators, theater on three levels, a shopping center, and much more. One of the main attractions of the ship is the Samsara Spa, a three-level, 3,500 m (11,500 ft) wellness facility with gym, a thalassotherapy pool, treatment rooms, sauna, Turkish bath and UVA ray solarium.

The “Jewels of the Baltic” itinerary is available throughout August 2016, and includes calls in Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; and Tallinn, Estonia, before returning to Stockholm. The entire trip lasts 7 nights.
