For travelers to the Czech Republic, the Charles Bridge Economic Hostel may just be your cup of tea. Winner of this year’s Best of Eastern Europe by Hostelworld.com for 2012, just the location of this accommodating stay speaks volumes.

As the name suggests this hostel is a budget accommodation situated right next to the world famous Charles Bridge.For those unfamiliar with Prague, the Charles Bridge is situated right in the heart of the city within walking distance of just about every touristic attraction. Hostel manager Michal Novak told E15.cz:
“The proximity to the Charles Bridge hostel certainly not the main reason, why in the world competition’s success, but here we are not the only ones – very near there are at least ten other hostels.”
What differentiates Novak’s hostel from the others then is the character of service at the stay. Much like the city of Prague, which now faces competition from Krakow, Budapest and Bratislava, this tiny little home away from home of a hotel pits hospitality against hospitality – and wins.
Looking at the hostel’s website, it’s clear operations are lean, there’s not much more than a web 1.0 landing page with an email addy for online travelers to partake of. What visitors can count on is no extra fees for Internet access, their own kitchen, and a down home Czech feeling when departing each morning to explore Prague, Europe’s most enchanting city.
