Chania Welcomes the Cretan World Music Festival 2019

Coming to Chania’s stunning Bastion San Salvatore July 8 – 10th, the Cretan World Music Festival will be a collaborative affair with the very successful Sampajana jazz festival in the old town of Chania.

The 2019 Cretan World Music Festival will feature truly great internationally recognized groups presenting authentic collaborations with a common theme in mystical Crete. The theme of this year’s event will be to increase awareness of cultural elements and tourism aspects of Crete, and the exchange of creativity and diverse cultures which act as an attraction to musicians of status.

This festival will be a musical experience the audience will not want to miss, creating lasting wonderful memories for everyone taking place. Performers taking part in this festival will be traveling from around the globe: Argentina, Uruguay, Alaska, Holland, Spain, Cuba, USA, Armenia, Venezuela, Turkey, Holland, Germany, and Greece.

Accompanying these musical events will be three days of amazing stilt walkers, acrobats, dancers, jugglers, and magicians to entertain the audience.

The Bastion San Salvatore location was chosen because it is a stunning reminder of the majestic old town, overseeing the Venetian harbor. Some of the artists who will be performing are Grammy Award winners.
