European Retailers Form Up via CEETRA

In travel business news, a group of travel retail companies have formally united to create a so called Central and Eastern Europe Travel Retail Association (CEETRA). At a meeting in Budapest retailers, suppliers and airports passed into reality the new trade organization.

The new association will offer workshops, events, and voice industry concerns from key decision makers across Central and Eastern Europe, according to the news.  Alan Bork, CEETRA Chairman and Commercial Director at Budapest International Airport, offered this comment on the news:

“We are all very excited about what can be achieved with CEETRA, I personally think this is a great opportunity to add value to the industry in our region. We have a lot of innovative and smart people working throughout Central and Eastern Europe, and bringing those people together to share ideas and knowledge will be a huge benefit to all of our businesses.”

According to Bork, the membership looks forward to joining the European Travel Retail Confederation, and to taking the new group’s concerns before the larger forum. CEETRA also announced they will extent their visibility, as well as their drive to accept new members. The first Annual General Meeting of the Association is scheduled to be held at the DFNI Conference in Malta on 13 November of this year. Bork is one of the scheduled speakers at the conference.

CEETRA Founding Members include; The Budapest International Airport, Vienna International Airport; Gebr Heinemann, Aelia Czech Republic, Pernod Ricard, Puig, Japan Tobacco International, Philip Morris International, British American Tobacco and Imperial Tobacco.
