Carlson Wagonlit Travel Names Vipservice as Russia Partner

Carlson Wagonlit Travel has announced that Russia-based Vipservice will be appointed to join CWT’s Global Partner Network.

According to the news from CWT, Vipservice will join its Global Partner Network later this month, once the proposed sale of CWT’s wholly owned Russian subsidiary to Vipservice is complete. CWT says the partnership underlines its commitment to growing its presence in Russia.

CWT services clients through its Global Partner Network in around 100 out of the nearly 150 countries in which CWT operates. Carlson iterated the belief the businesses have complementary core competencies, technologies, and share values in marketing and customer service. The announcement also laid out new benefits to its customers in Russia, centred on an online service solution integrated with local content. Natalia Morozova, CWT general manager in Russia added this:

“We are delighted to have found such a well-established, respected international partner in Vipservice – a company that shares CWT’s commitment to providing outstanding customer service. “By combining the experience of one of the largest travel companies in Russia with our unique solutions and global best practice, we believe this will create a winning offering for all of our customers. We look forward to working with Vipservice on new and exciting projects in the future.”

When the deal is finalized, Natalia Morozova will start a handover period to newly appointed general director, Alexey Kushkin.

Vipservice Holding was founded in 1993. The holding is the largest Russian consolidator of airline and railway ticket sales, travel and related services, and the main agent for national carriers such as Aeroflot and Russian Railways (RZD). The services are provided to over 10,000 sub-agents at the Holding’s Moscow-based and 10 regional representative offices in Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Tyumen, Perm, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Izhevsk, Irkutsk and Chelyabinsk.
