The Chania-Rethymno Intercity Bus Company (KTEL) has announced additional services for pedestrians making the annual pilgrimage to the church, located along the VOAK. Buses will take pilgrims as far as Megala Chorafia, where the designated pedestrian route begins.
The alternative walking route leads to the southern entrance of the church. The arrangements have been made with the assistance of the Chania Traffic Police to reduce the risk to pedestrians walking along or near the busy national road.
