The World’s Biggest-Nuttiest Ski Event promises to be bigger, crazier, and more devilish fun for 2018
BoogelWoogel-2018 will be bigger, better and “crankier” than ever before. The Alpine Carnival that takes place at Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort from March 28 to April 1 now has a reputation for building on past successes, so this year’s event will surely attempt to out-do all previous carnivals.
Starting on March 30, there will be downhill skiing/snowboarding in carnival outfit, and for March 31 organizers announced an endeavor to break the Guinness World Record for swimwear downhill racing. The organizers feel confident that the event will shatter previous records. They’re so confident, in fact, that Nikita GIRIN, an organizer of BoogelWoogel and other officials of the event have invited an official representative of the Book of Records to Rosa Khutor.
In order to break the existing record, BoogelWoogel 2018 will need at least 1,058 riders on the downhill at the same time in the Rosa Khutor event. As usual, all riders shall have swimwear, socks, mask and boots put on and use ski or snowboard at the moment of riding. A mobile changing room will be provided for all bravehearts at the start point. Nikita Girin explained:
“All participants in this year will be awarded with BoogelWoogel certificates. These will be issued in the Carnival pavilions to those who presents special ticket received at registration for the downhill ride.”
Traditionally, the Alpine Orchestra will provide the rhythm of music and sounds accompanying the downhill and other events. Also, in order to make it more attractive for tourists, the organizers are promoting special budget-friendly tours to BoogelWoogel. The tour includes accommodation, breakfast optionally, ski-pass and the BoogelWoogel Special Guest set of options, which allow the guest to be gifted with nice souvenirs and get the access to by-invitation-only events. The tour will save over 10 thousand rubles and the booking will take only 1 minute.
For 2018, the Carnival presents amazing new matrix of “crankery” team games too. These will include human kicker, cylindrical tennis, bumper-ball championship, chess boxing (chess and boxing at the same time) and at last Sochi will see bossa-ball (trampoline volleyball). In the evenings there will be Stand-Up shows and home concerts, and on March 29 guests will enjoy a performance of American singer, LP (Laura Pergolizzi) in Rosa Hall.
Traditionally, we celebrate Holi festival of colors, ski and snowboard jumps to a swimming pool, Hip-Hop, Breakdance, Dancehall dance battles and Miss BoogelWoogel beauty contest.
Get into your swimwear and go to BoogelWoogel! Make it into the history of the Guinness Book of Records!

I want to know how to apply to buy tickets and participate in the festival, know where I can book nights at a camping or hotel and know how I can get an invitation to travel to Russia since I am a Mexican national and I need a visa for this .
Hi Juan,
Thanks for getting in touch. Tickets can be purchased via the link to the website. As for camping etc., a good place to start is TripAdvisor. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g298536-c3-zff29-Sochi_Greater_Sochi_Krasnodar_Krai_Southern_District-Hotels.html
Let us know if you need more help finding accommodations too, we are happy to help if we can.
On your visa, the visa processing pages of the Russian Embassy in Mexico City are a good place to start. https://mexico.mid.ru/es/vydaca-viz
