Last of the Summer Sun: Explore Bénodet

For travelers who want to enjoy the last of the Summer sun at the seaside, Eurocamp is offering seven nights for just £259 per person at Eurocamp’s La Pointe St Gilles, a wonderful parc with direct access to the beach.

Bénodet is one of the most fashionable seaside resorts in Brittany. The park, is a short drive from the center of the town, easily accessible on foot too. You can walk on Corniche de la Plage to admire beautiful seaside views, and enjoy a wealth of promenade cafes, crêperies and restaurants.

The St. Gilles beach, bordered by rocks, is one of the four main beaches of the resort. It is ideal for children, who will discover the delights of fishing for shellfish, shrimp and crabs.

Most park facilities, like family and children disco, restaurant and animation team, close on August 31, but some remain open till September 16. The seven nights for £259 per person offer is available for a seven night break between September 9 – September 16, 2013. Facilities still open are the supermarket, the gift shop and the main shop, as well as the take away restaurant, offering pizza, burgers, chips and more.

All indoor and outdoor pools remain open till September 16 as well, but spas stay open a bit longer, only closing September 22.

Aside onsite activities, there are many things to do in Bénodet and nearby villages and towns. You can take the ferry to cross the river “Odet” and discover Sainte Marine, a charming fishing village. The ferry crosses the river till the end of September, every day from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 13:50 to 18:15 and on Sunday from 13:50 to 18:15.

Also, don’t miss Quimper, the capital of Cornouaille, which is 17 km from Bénodet. The city is famous for pottery art, and boasts a beautiful pedestrian area, with timbered houses, and other architectural treasures.

Concarneau’s fortified center is a must too: it is one of France’s largest fishing ports, and is just 17km away too.
