Vayant Travel Tech and 2e Systems Enhance airBaltic

In news from Frankfurt today, Vayant Travel Technologies announced a partnership with 2e Systems for providing solutions for airBaltic. According to the news, 2e’s booking engine, along with Vayant’s Microproducts – FareList, TaxQuote, and IntelliPricer, will provide a “new breed” of tech solutions for airlines.

A very clean, minimalist, and crisp airBaltic web landing page

News of airBaltic has been fairly prominent, including the Latvian Transport Ministry urging the company to call a stockholder’s meeting over recent resignations there. Also in airBaltic news, the airline just recently lowered their economy class airfares significantly, thereby giving passengers more flexibility and value in the region. As for this current news, Phil Douglas, CEO of 2e Systems, had this to add:

“We are pleased to have found in Vayant a partner that brings an easy to integrate suite of products as well as a powerful and flexible B2B platform.”

Since the naming of Brian Clark as CEO of Vayant, the company’s direction has take a right turn toward engaging market players regionally, like airBaltic, as well as partnerships and collaborations with industry leaders like 2e, and in March,  HitchHiker (PDF), a leader in tourism digital solutions. Janis Vanags, airBaltic’s Vice President Corporate Communications, added her comments:

“Low ticket prices helped airBaltic achieve 16% growth last year of passengers travelling to/from the airlines 80 destinations in Europe, Middle East, and Russia/CIS. We are delighted that this partnership helps us to lower our operational costs, while offering a single integrated solution.”

While the press release is not clear about just what this “integrated” solution will look like, it seems very clear it will likely be a refined mobile search platform, and/or an advanced booking aspect for airBaltic clients. Vayant’s algorithms atop 2e’s proprietary technologies, layered over airBaltic’s emerging value, this looks like an industry mover on the face of the news. We will cover the story further when the technologies are made available by the companies.
