Air Moldova Expands Fleet with a Second A319

Air Moldova enlarged its fleet with an additional aircraft Airbus A319.

Air Moldova, the national airline of Moldova, has recently increased its fleet with an Airbus A319. The 150-seat airliner is supposed to be excellent for short-distance flights.

The new aircraft joined the fleet at the Chișinău International Airport (IATA: KIV, ICAO: LUKK) on May 19, 2017. Presently, the company operates eight airliners, counting on four types of aircraft: Airbus A321, Airbus A320, Airbus A319, and Embraer E190.

The second Airbus 319 to join the fleet of Air Moldova was previously owned by Frontier Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. The aircraft has 150 seats and can reach a cruising speed of 890 km/h at a maximum height of 11900 meters. The aircraft was put into operation in 2002. Air Moldova got its first Airbus 319 in 2015.

In 2015, Air Moldova recorded over 1 million passengers, mainly due to the cessation of direct flights between Russia and Ukraine.
