Affordable Art Fair Singapore Opens Today

Today is the start of the very first Singapore installment of the Affordable Art Fair. Now world renown for taking high end art down a notch in price, this fair presents works from more than 60 galleries across Asia, Australia, and Europe. Some of the world’s best pieces, at prices between $100 and $10,000 – brings the vision of Will Ramsay into real focus.

From education programs to making possible art collections on a budget, AAF brings the wonderful world of fine art home for so many more people.

Other AAF Events from around the world

The Affordable Art Fair was originally founded by entrepreneur Will Ramsey in order to make contemporary art affordable and accessible. Since 1999, Ramsey’s dream has become a reality for not only Singapore, but Amsterdam, Bristol, Brussels, London, Melbourne, Milan,
New York, Paris, and Sydney as well. To date just under one million enthusiasts have attended the various events, spending upwards of  $250 million on the various works.

The Singapore event, which runs until Sunday, is the latest – and maybe the greatest – version of this successful event. From emerging artists to established world names, The Affordable Art Fair literally delivers on the idea that art does not have to be expensive to have great value. Some of the notable Asian galleries present in Singapore include, Indigo Blue Art, Sunjin. An international contingent of fine galleries like,  the Cat Street Gallery from Hong Kong; India’s Himalaya Arts; Bicha from London;  Galerie Envie D-Art from France; and Spain’s Villa del Arte afford visitors an even more broad selection of contemporary excellence.

These fairs, Ramsey’s vision, is not just about showing and selling works of art. AAF’s official Education Partner, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and other associations, afford this artistic movement (if we can call it that) special empowerment to not only educate – but to nourish the art community where it is most needed. Face it, without benefactors, the people who actually buy works or art, the community of artists would suffer and even dwindle. Ramsay has actually provided a crucial link in between the art lover and the artist.

The Singapore Affordable Art Fair is being held at F1 Pit Building (1 Republic Boulevard), Singapore, from Friday November 19th – Sunday the  21st. For more information please consult this press release (PDF), or the fair’s website. You can also check out the latest news and information via the AAF Facebook pages. If you are in Singapore, and in the market for stunning works of art (or just want to look), we encourage you to take in this extraordinary fair.  You don’t have to be a millionaire to take home a true treasure from your visit to Asia.
