Greece’s national carrier Aegean Airliness (AEGEAN) announced on Tuesday, that it was granting scholarships to 100 Greek students seeking to become pilots with applications being accepted until September 7.

The 3-million-euro scholarship program for the next school year will cover more than half of total tuition costs, which in full come to approximately 75,000 euros, leading to the acquisition of an Integrated Commercial Pilot License with MCC. Classes for the first group of students are scheduled to begin in October.

The duration of training is set at 14-17 months and will be carried out at the Global Aviation facility in Athens and at the Egnatia Aviation grounds in Kavala. Students will gain theoretical and flight training practice on aircraft and flight simulators for the acquisition of the professional civil aviation pilot license.

Candidates should fill in the application on the AEGEAN website and attach a CV through to September 7, 2018, by 23:59.

Students selected will then proceed to the second stage to be completed by September 14 and will be required to submit additional supporting documents. They will then be called for a personal interview, followed by a Compass Pilot Aptitude Test and health assessment. Final selection will be completed following an evaluation by a special committee set up by AEGEAN in cooperation with the relevant academies.
