Aegean Airlines Adds Seven New International Destinations

Aegean Airlines will start flight service to seven new international destinations from Athens in 2019. The airline announced it will directly connect Marrakesh, Casablanca, Ibiza, Valencia, Sarajevo, Tunis and Skopje, while another flight connect from Thessaloniki-Hannover.

Aegean is planning to increase seat capacity by 700,000 on the international market, according to the news. This is a move that will bring the airline’s passenger capacity on international routes to 10.3 million, and to 17.7 million customers overall for 2019.

The company announced seating capacity will be increased as part of its year-round operations, but it will be more pronounced during the winter months and the “shoulder seasons” of April, May and October.

Aegean Airlines will also offer more flights, and capacity, between Athens and leading European destinations, including Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and Porto.

The airline also mentioned other routes including Athens to Luxembourg, Malta, Venice, Bologna, Naples, Catania and Malaga, will begin operation earlier in the season or with increased capacity.

Aegean also said that it is considering increasing the number of seats on routes within the Balkan and East European markets.
