AEGEAN Air Relays Olympic Flame of Hope

The “Flame of Hope” has taken off for Brussels via AEGEAN Airlines A3620 after having visited the Greek cities of Komotini, Kavala, Thasos, Thessaloniki and Athens.

AEGEAN, a gold sponsor of the Special Olympics Hellas, now carries the Flame of Hope and the 74 members of the Greek Team, who will participate in the Summer European Games 2014 Special Olympics being held in Antwerp from 9-21 of September.

Coming up at a special ceremony in the forecourt of the European Parliament, the Games Organizational Committee, the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and other European Union officials, will welcome the “Flame of Hope” that started in the Ancient Zone of Alexandroupolis. Now, from 9th-13th September, a torch race across Belgian territory will culminate at Palais Stadium 12-Brussels Expo, where the opening ceremony will also be held. AEGEAN’s CEO, Dimitris Gerogiannis, offered this via press release:
