Not to Miss Advent Events in Prague: Festival of Christmas Music

If you are visiting Prague at the end of November, the the 23rd International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music could be one of the best ways to spend your time. The festival has been traditionally organised in the first Advent weekend, and offers a rich programme of Advent and Christmas music, by national choirs.

During the event, you can enjoy live performances at the historic Old Town Square; as well as marionette opera; open air public performances Friday, Nov 29 and Saturday Nov 30, 2013; Black Light Theatre Image; river cruises; and a festive final evening with prize awarding and Grand Prix competition, Saturday, Nov 30, 2013.

For the contest, choirs are supposed to prepare a contest programme of their choice, either a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment. The competition performance will be evaluated by an expert jury formed by acknowledged figures of Czech as well as international choral music.

The International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music belongs to the most prestigious festivals in the region.
