AccorHotels Acquires VeryChic

VeryChic under the Accor wing now

The anticipated AccorHotels acquisition of VeryChic is now complete according to the hotel chain. Now Accor can complete digital private sales of luxury hotel rooms and apartments, cruises, breaks, packages and more.

VeryChic, which was created in 2011 by Nicolas Clair, Hervé Lafont and Charles Decaux, allows some 3,000 luxury and hotel partners to better distribute to new guests via its private sales funnel. The company carefully selects the hotels on offer, from selections in 40 countries worldwide, and guarantees unique and personalized experiences for members.

The platform operates from its site and from a mobile app that offers attractive pricing and other incentives to a member base of five million plus. According to VeryChic, the platform generates substantial booking volumes with almost half coming through the mobile app.

What his  transaction means for AccorHotels is yet another booking channel leading more directly to the brand’s properties, not to mention a piece of the overall luxury pie.  VeryChic can accelerate its international development now, and perhaps become an even bigger player on the global scene. Steven Daines, chief executive, HotelServices Africa & Middle East, Accor, added this statement:

“We are delighted to be working with Nicolas, Hervé and Charles, who in just five years have managed to earn the trust of millions of members and of thousands of hotel partners thanks both to their unique expertise in the field of luxury private sales and their commitment to absolute quality.”

In addition to using VeryChic’s platform to complement its own network of bookable hotel rooms, AccorHotels is working with Travelsify to refine the hotel booking process.
