As the grand stage is set for the 41st Athens Marathon, the city’s mayor, Haris Doukas, eagerly anticipates athletes and runners from across the globe celebrating sport and camaraderie.
The City of Athens is geared to host the highly anticipated 41st Athens Marathon on 9th and 10th November. This world-class athletic event, jointly organised by the city, promises to feature 73,000 runners from 152 nations. In the words of Mayor Haris Doukas, “Athens is proud again this year, welcoming athletes and runners from all over the world, on this historic route and with them we celebrate sports, the joy of participation, the value of inclusion. And those who will not have the opportunity to taste the thrill of participation can take part in the celebration, clapping, cheering and encouraging the athletes.”
