Beginning February 1st “EgyptAir” will launch direct flights between Moscow and Cairo three times a week, according to the air carrier.

Interfax News Agency also reported that; “Three regular flights are operated from Cairo international airport to Moscow weekly starting February 1, 2018.” The flights will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, according to this report. In addition, the airline plans to launch an additional 20 flights for the transport of Egyptian football fans traveling to Russia on The 2018 World Cup.

A decree about the restoration of air links between Russia and Egypt was signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Thursday, January 4. Some readers may recall that President Putin signed a decree on “the closure of Egypt” on 8 November 2015 to take “certain measures to ensure national security of the Russian Federation and protecting Russian citizens from criminal and other illegal actions.” So, the current proclamation basically resends that decree.
