Amorgos will once again turn its attention to tourism, film and island culture this November, when the island hosts the 17th Amorgos International Tourism Film Festival, the 9th Film Academy and the 23rd HYERIA Conference on Culture.
The events will take place from November 12 to 17, 2026, bringing filmmakers, tourism professionals, cultural organizations and other participants from Greece and abroad to the Cycladic island.
An official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), the Amorgos festival promotes Greece and Amorgos through film, culture and tourism.
Last year’s event attracted more than 100 participants from around the world and received coverage from Greek and international media.
This year’s program is built around the theme “Islandness, Landscape and Audiovisual Culture: Place as Experience and Creation,” exploring the relationship between culture, filmmaking and the sustainable development of island communities.
Submissions for the festival’s competition have now closed, with films from Greece and abroad competing in the official categories. An international jury will evaluate the entries in the coming months before selecting this year’s nominees and winners.
The November program will include film screenings, educational workshops, talks and cultural events, turning Amorgos into a meeting point for creators and professionals working across tourism, culture and audiovisual production.
