The International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower”, also known as the Kremlin Military Tattoo, begins today in the Red Square, and will last till September 8, 2013.
This is a unique event, and a chance to see amazing musical performances by the State Honour Guards and many leading Russian and foreign military music bands. The festival is part of a more complex programme, celebrating the Days of the City of Moscow. The organizers expect over 7000 people daily to attend the event, with an average total of 56000 for the whole duration of the festival.
Today, the Red Square is mainly dedicated to the youngest audiences, offering events with free attendance in the first part of the day, and paid concerts in the evening. At 18:00, you can attend with your family the Interactive program Spasskaya Tower for Kids at the children playground in the Red Square.
In fact, all days of the festival offer events with free admission for children and adults alike. The most spectacular promises to be the Children show-jumping on September 5, at the horse riding arena. All these are part of the social project “Spasskaya Tower for children”. Every day from August 31 till September 8, the little guests of the Festival will participate in delighting master-classes on horse care and sabre fighting, relay races, chess tournaments, art studios, etc.
Participant countries include Russia, China, United Kingdom, Japan, Switzerland, Belarus, Slovenia, the Netherlands, France, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Austria.
