The donut festival in Budapest this week, Farsangi Fánkfesztivál, lasts for three days and gathers several vendors, locals, and tourists on Kőrösy József u, from February 24 until 26. There will be over 50 different types of donuts to sample, as well as other desserts, savory treats, traditional drinks, music, and fun events for all ages.
Visitors will find authentic specialties like Lángos, either simple, or filled with cheese, meats, or vegetarian stuffings. There will also be savory donuts filled with all kinds of fresh ingredients, like cured meats, chicken steak, salad, and so on. A colorful display of donuts will attract foodies with the perfect atmosphere to eat and be merry. Have your cameras and smartphones charged and don’t miss the perfect Instagram moments offered by this event. You can spend several hours here tasting delicious street food, or wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and hot cocoa while watching the people in a festive carnival ambiance.
The Farsangi Fánkfesztivál is also an occasion for you to observe a variety of donut-making and decorating techniques, as many vendors prepare these treats on site, in front of you. The festival is part of the Hungarian farsang (carnival) season. For updates regarding the event visit the link above (in Hungarian). The carnival seasons ends on Shrove Thursday, the day before Lent.
